Leleuvia = Paradise= the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen= the friendliest people I have ever met! It was our idea of Heaven!!
The most perfect little sandy island, and when I say little, it only took 10-15 minutes to walk around. To get there, we travelled with the owner of the Beachouse daughter Maddie and Bruce in the truck, (the boys sitting in the open air in the back) to Suva. On the way we got stopped by the police for a speeding ticket, but not one mention of any problem of the boys sitting there. The five of us went; Kenny, me, Lee, Adam and Lisa. Then from Suva, we got a 40minute taxi for Boa Landing, where the men in the Leleuvia boat picked us up for a half hour crossing to the island. That first day we spent using the free equipment such as the kayak for a 30min paddle around the island, only we didn't make it because we went at low tide and got stuck. So we did a bit of a snorkelling; it was amazing!!! Multicoloured fish and coral, big and small, like nothing I'd ever seen before. But I ended up stuck, swimming in between some high coral and cut my hand and knee. (Which took nearly a month to heal!) lunch and dinner were both great, topped off by some bounty rum cola drinks.
The next day we went fishing; trolling actually, where you hang the rods off the back of the boat whilst it's moving. So we had got talking about the whole positive and negative thinking; Adam and I were positive, Kenny and Lee were negative... Guess who caught the fish? I got a grupa, big enough fish and it already had a smaller fish in its mouth. And Adam caught a barracuda, which preceded to s*** all over him. See positive thinking works :)
We decided to extend the trip to stay 6 days instead of 3 and it was one if the best decisions we've made. Adam stayed too. It consisted of firstly getting the next part if the trip organised; Nadi and Auckland accommodation, Awesome Adventures Fiji, Kiwi Experience booked, so now I could relax and that's exactly what I did for the rest if Leleuvia.
Sunbathed and read by book, caught up on the blog, snorkelled and kayaked nearly every day, (we say a group of black squid one day; Kenny even saw one inking another fish. And Kenny was followed by a sea snake!) tried out paddle boarding which was fun and had a go at hand line fishing out of a double kayak. Kenny caught this time, but it just couldn't feel the wee b*****s on the line. Kenny won that time. I also thought I'd take the initiative to try out yoga for myself. I'd done one class, how hard could it be. So in the sand, (no mat) in my bikini freshly sun-creamed up, I have a booked downloaded on the kindle and I get Kenny to show me the picture then read out what it instructs me to do. Disaster with a capital D. The first poses don't go too bad as I'm still standing upright, but by number 4, I am belly down on the ground in such an awkward position that all I can do is roll is= Kirstie the sand monster! Completely covered in sand stuck to the sun cream stuck to me, in my hair and everything. Needless to say I'll not try that again, well not in the sand anyways.
Overall we just had such an amazing time; great company (Lee made us laugh every single day and Adam was just a great guy, even if he did like to eat fish head.), friendly staff (Simi, Judy, Melika, the Jo's, to name a few), amazing food (we definitely haven't are soo well since we left home) and what else can I say, We will definitely be back to Leleuvia :D
