Well another year has started and i'm still travelling and loving it!!

Christmas and New year were ok! I didnt really like being away from home at christmas and wasn't really very excited Christmas morning like I normally am! I was crying on the phone to my mum becaused I missed her, she was crying too! At least this year I will have mum and Terry in Australia with me for christmas. New years eve we went to Civic Square in Wellington and watched a live concert. It was pretty cold so we went to a bar til about 11 then went back out for the countdown. The bar we went to was a backpacker bar called Blend it was pretty busy in there and when we were dancing a guy came over to me and started dancing with me and wouldnt leave me alone trying to kiss me then jen rescued me! After the countdown we went to a few bars but everywhere was really busy so we kept moving on. we stayed out until about 2. This new year will be much better though when i'm home with all my friends and family.

I am now travelling around the south island. I have been to Nelson, Greymouth, Franz Josef and now Queenstown. Nelson and Greymouth were ok but not really a lot there so we only stayed one night at each.

Franz Josef was amazing we went glacier hiking which was so surreal! we did a 3 hour walk and it started raining which was crap but the walk was still really good. it wasnt hard at all. We were given over trousers and coats. We also had special boots and crampons to put on the boots to make it easier to walk in the snow. My boots rubbed the back on my foot and now I have a horrible blister!

Queenstown is amazing! I love it here! We didnt get here til late on Friday night so we went straight for something to eat. We had a Fergburger which is really popular here and it was amazing! We then went out to meet our bus driver Lisa to have teapots!! We went to a bar called Buffallo bar and then to World bar for the teapots! They were lovely! Lisa bought it for us for winning a quiz! We then went to a bar called Winnies.

Yesterday we went to Milford Sound which was really good apart from the weather! it was raining and really misty so we didnt have a very good view of the mountains but the waterfalls looked amazing! We took the coach there then went on a boat cruise where we saw seals and dolphin! We went out again last night for teapots and Jen and I were looking forward to having a milky one that we'd seen on the menu the night before and when we ordered it she said we dont do milky ones anymore! we were gutted cos we couldnt get them in Cairns either! one day we might get to have one!!

Today we went on a Lord of the Rings horse ride! It was really good we saw lots of locations where they filmed and were told about them we also saw some parts where Prince Caspian was filmed and the Lovely Bones it was really interesting now i have to watch all the films to say i've been there!! The horse i was riding was called Lordy!! It was only a slow ride but still good.

Queenstown is by far my favourite place there is so much to do here and so little time! I will have to come back again one day.

The hostels in New Zealand are so different from oz! most of them have oven's which you dont get in Oz! all of the hostels we have stayed in have been pretty nice one actually had a bath and i was tempted to have one but wouldnt have really felt comfortable! i will just have to wait til i get home!

I am off to Dunedin tomorrow to visit some of my dads family which will be nice, i have only meet them once about 8 years ago!!!
