So we arrived in Luang Prabang really tired and hot and we were hoping to just get a room and cjhill out for a couple of hours, but this really weird German women insisted on staying with us, she had barely talked to us on the slowboat but for some reason wanted to stay wiht us?? Anyway putting that aside it was a really nice village and every time you walked down the street you bumped into atleast 5 people you new! We went to an amazing waterfall while we were there and we actually swam behind it where there was a little cave you could go in - the water was freezing and the current was really strong but it was really fun! We went out at night and because there is a 12 o'clock curfew all the bars close at 11.30 so everyone moves onto the bowling alley which is open till 2. We had loads of fun it was like a slowboat reunion! After a couple we had itchy feet already-and also wanted to ditch the german girl who liked getting up at 6 am- so we decided to move on to Vang Vieng.
vang Vieng was a really chilled out village, the first day we ended up losing atleast 3 hours just wathcing friends, not even realising how much time we had spent there!! One of the main things to do in Vang Vieng is to go tubing, whcih was so much fun you literraly just float down a river all day in a ring and get pulled into bars with bamboo sticks-missing the occasional bar when the current gets too strong!- in all the bars there are really high rope swings which i (millie) managed to fall off and faceflop!! splitting my lip and bruising my chest and stomach! it was very embarassing and painfull! then i (kira) did an extremely gracefull bomb of it which wasnt too pleasant!!! the day was sooo good that we ended up continuing the fun until midnight so a good 13 hours of drinnking which made us feel fab the next day!!! we decided that we should get a bit active and go Kayaking for a day to get some much needed exercise!!!! we Kayaked, tubed through some water caves, kayaked some more, then stopped off in one of the bars on the river for a beer laos. so a very productive day!!!!!Vang Vieng is practically the place where every travellor goes to drink, tube and watch friends (in the bars who have every season playing all day every day!!!) we believe we did all this to most of our ability!! oh and we also fell victim to the customary attire of tubing/beer laos t-shirts!!!!! very cool!!!!
