so after a good old 14 hour train journey we arrived in Roma on the 24th. we managed to find our way around the centre with our trusty backpacks and hop on the correct metro then the correct bust to our campsite, however, we managed to miss our stop by about a mile and the bus driver decided to kick us off on the motorway, so we ended up trecking down the motorway just dodging the cars....a great start!

we were staying at this like campsite, hostel type resort! we were in a tent but had a swimming pool, numerous bars, resturants and a mini mart which sold 2 euro wine!!! we loved it!!! lol it was really stange because there were hardly any English folk there, pretty much all Aerican, Autrailian or German!!!! we did however meet 3 lovely people from Sheffield which was nice so we pretty much chilled with them whilst we were there!!!

Italy was having a heat wave on the days we were visiting so we decided to get up nice and early to do all the typical touristy things, i.e colosseum, vattigan. the idea was nice but after a night of 2 euro wine and an on site dico!!!!! our early turned out to be 11.30...so we just managed to do the 5 hours of sight seeing in the heat of the day!!!!! the colosseum was AMAZING!!!!!! so massive and stunning and to top it off there were men dressed in Gladiator outfits taking pictures with the tourists...what more could you want!! Rome is pretty amazing and there is soooo much to see there so we were happy that we managed to fit in in!!!!

And i have to mention the food!!! now the Italians know how to cook!!! although we are partial to our budgeting cheese sandwiches, we had to indulge a little and have pizza or lasagne at least once a day (and yes were are about 2 stones heavier!!! lol) we did also indule on a 14 euro raditional Italian buffet which was well worth it!

sooo in Split in Croatia now after the longest rubbishist train journeys ever!!!!!!! but will inform on a later date.
