Kim's Travels
OH MY GOD... LAST NIGHT... I MET TOADIE, STEPH AND PAUL! Last night's 'Neighbours Night' was hillarious, I had such a laugh. Basically; it was held in a traditional English pub (the Elephant and Wheelbarrow) and we were all asigned to tables with other randomers. For two hours they kept us in suspense before finally bringing the stars out. It was quite good though coz we got to chat and meet other people etc... Anyway, when the stars came out (with their huge body guards) they all had a little chat with us and stuff and then came around for a photo with each of us which was uber cool. While this was all going on, there was a quiz which all the tables were competing in which was a laugh. After the stars left, there were more very embarrassing, drunken competitions and games, which were fun and then a "disco". It was a wicked night and definatly not one to forget!! We loved it so much we're going to try and get to the one in Sydney on Sunday too!! (Well... I am...!!)
Anyway, this morning, we went to the market AGAIN (!) and got some brekkie and have a proper, proper browse - that took about 3 hours as there is SO much stuff there and it was slightly more tame then Hong Kong! Then we strolled along to Federation Square (the main square which had some really funky buildings) where we checked out the Aboriginal Artwork Display at one of the Museums which was really cool. There is a lot in the news about the Aboriginals at the moment, in fact UNICEF have launched an appeal for Aboriginal children as they think they live in worse conditions than children in the third world. Its a very current, sore point and it's very sad. Anyway, after seeing that, we caught the tram back and took the train to Belgrave to meet Tom's family again. Tonight we're being treated to a family roast!
