Woohoo! English speaking people! hahaha! Although they do say "fush 'n' chups" rather than fish and chips! haha!
The fun began when we got to immigration in Auckland and bumped into Towny who was ahead of us in the que and was going to wait for us inthe baggage claim, however once we got to the arrivals terminal there was still no sign of him so we waited... and waited...and waited... then about 45 minutes later a pissed off looking Towny strolls out of arrivals after being taken in by custom security and sat in a room for an hour! he still doesn't know what it was all about but they let him go without an explanation, haha! Only Towny!
We droped our stuff off and went to meet Hannah and Matt (the couple we met in South America) and had a catch up, Tom enjoyed his first english breakfast in 3 months! In the evening we had some drinks with them and went to a toga party. Towny was suposed to come but fell asleep and didn't wake up for 17 hours! obviously not used to back packer travels! We said our goodbyes to Hannah and Matt, who were off to Fiji the following day.
On Friday we went on the Auckland city bus tour, although there wasn't much to see. We visited Harbour bridge where Tom done his first bungy and went to Devonport where we ate some "fush 'n' chups". In the afternoon when we got back we met up with Gareth and Sian (another couple we met in South America) we went to an Irish bar for a few drinks to catch up - it was lovely to have a pint of cider! In the evening we went back to Townys hostal where we met Gianni and Simpson (Luke Andrews and Luke Simpson) it was wicked to see them and that night we all went out for a few christmas drinks - sweet
Saturday the weather was a bit better and we all got the bus to Mission Bay beach and chilled out, at 5pm we all got fush 'n' chups (again!) before heading to the domain park where there was a huge stage with performers, Christmas music and fireworks. It was a really good night.
Today we have been hungover we went and got pizza before moving into the same hostal as the boys. We all chipped in together and cooked a huge spagetti bolognese inthe evening which was yummy. We start our Kiwi Experience bus tomorrow - first stop bay of Islands - woohoo!
We'll be in touch soon.
