Hi Everyone
The night bus to Coffs Harbour was a right experience! 30 minutes down the freeway the driver pulled onto the hard shoulder and said that we had broken down, 2 hours later a new bus arrived. We arrived into Coffs Harbour the following morning at 8:30 and our hostal was really nice and had a swimming pool so we had some breakfast and didn't really do much over the two days we were there, we just chilled outby the pool and walked down to the harbour. We also finished off our brie which we had been savouring the last couple days!
Wednesday evening we left to head to Byron Bay. When we arrived our friends Gareth and Sian (who we met in South America and again in New Zealand) rang us to say that they were there too, so we went straight to the pub for a few beers and a catch up, a very funny night! We then spent the next few days with them and had such a laugh they were staying in a "Wicked Campers" Budget Camper van. All of the Wicked Campers are decorated with artistic graffiti and some how they managed to end up with one that had a big Jesus Fish logo on the side of it and "Honk if you know Jesus" slogan on the back! hahaha! It was hilarious - they got lots of honks! we all had surf lessons together and had a really good time. Drank lots of Goon! (really cheap wine) we got 4 litres of wine for just $10 (about a fiver!)
Today has been the wierdest day ever! we took a tour to a small place called Nimbin. To start the day we got onto "The Happy Bus" where Fred the hippie was our driver and 'apparently' sober! We arrived in Nimbin, a tiny town full of stoned hippies, it's only about 200m long, but walk from one end to the other and you will be offered "smoke" "cookies" or "mushies" too many times to count! What a strange town but an experience!
We are off to Surfers Paradise tonight for a couple days, apparently it's just like Blackpool! tacky!
We'll catch up with you again soon.
Hope your all well.
Love us x x x
