Greetings from Tanzania!
We crossed the border this morning and already have noticed a difference - villages are tidier and prettier than in Kenya and everywhere seems more developed and westernised.
We are staying in a place called Snake Park which has its own snake zoo which we visited ... hopefully our tents will be far enough away from the snakes to allow us to sleep without fear!!!
I held an African grass snake at Snake Park - Mark chickened out! The funniest thing was when Kelly (one of the girls from NZ) held a baby croc... she jumped and let go of the head (which you should never do!) realised she was about to get bitten and then dropped it. Baby crocs move very fast and you should have all seen us scatter and run... needless to say we declined to hold it ourselves after that incident! This was closely followed by two guys deciding to poke medium sized crocs to see if they would move (African zoos don't seem to bother about high fences and glass and the crocs were within easy reach!!!) I was waiting for disaster to strike but the guys were lucky - I think the crocs were just too hot to bother!
