hello!
First of all, I had an absolute touch on the plane...the people who were supposed to be sitting next to me missed their flight from Glasgow (probably too busy doing heroin and drinking Super Tennants), so I had 3 seats all to myself...MINT!!! So i stretched out over 3 seats and slept all the way.
Arrived in Bangkok into a wall of heat about 4pm and got a nice air conditioned cab to my hotel. my room is small but efficient, and is situated in Patpong and King Rama 4th road which is a buzzing little spot. As remembered from my previous visit, Bangkok really comes alive at night, so after a quick bite, i headed out to the bars. I met a couple of northerners who said they were goin to watch the Thai boxing so i went along with them...I cannot state how good this was! It was in a relatively small bar, packed with people and we were pretty much front row, some absolute savage blows flying in from all angles, at one point the fella in red ended up in my lap!
After the fight I had a walk around the famous Patpong night market, carefully managing to avoid the ladyboys of course. Mum, its a shame your work lot bought you that Louis Vuitton bag when you left, I could have got you one here "much cheaper for u very good price mister, good quality mister" !!
It is at times sad and disturbing to see the beautiful thai girls on the arm of some long-haired fat european weirdo, surely in this day and age there is a better life for them? It also gets a bit annoying when you cant have a beer without getting approached and expected to buy for the girls...but I suppose I should be used to that from nights in Watford eh? haha I did however watch a fairly memorable game of ping pong between 2 local girls before heading off to bed!! you dont see that sort of thing every day mate.
Today I got up late, was more tired than I thought, and went to get water. 5 minutes later I was drenched in sweat! pure heat about 34 degrees here. I decided to go shopping, got some absolute brilliant fakey gear, brands including Ralph, Abercrombie and of course, Gucci. You know I can pull it off when I get home!! No deals on lacoste for you this time though lads.
After scribing this I am heading out to get food, hopefully slightly better than the chicken flavoured duck I had for lunch, and tonight I'm heading to the north eastern part of the city near China town to explore around there.
I do feel very alone for the first time in my life, but I am not lonely, and am looking forward to heading north in the next couple of days
