Yesterday we were up at 8am to visit a temple a little way away from the others at Angkor. Well worth the journey as it was the best preserved and made from red sandstone. Only small but probably the most beautiful. Back to the hotel for 11am we managed to fit in a quick walk around Siam Reap and some last minute shopping then showered, changed, grabbed a sanwich then off to the airport at 13:45 - all a bit hectic in 32C heat. Have had a great time over the last feeders although Internet access has been limited (or expensive). Spent 2 days in Phnom Pnem which was a deeply moving experience. We visited the detention centre where Pol Pot tortured "intellectuals" such as teachers followed by a visit to the killing fields to see where most of them ended up. Arrived in Vietiene the capital of Laos last night. Big difference in hotel as we are now in a 5 star compared to the wooden huts in the Luang Prebang. Luang Prebang was a small town by the river with excellent views of the sunset over the mountains. We visited an organic farm which had been set up by one man, Mr T. Today was a long day traveling by bus from Luang Pertang to Vang Vieng (Apologies again as spelling is probably not right but all my posts are done late at night in bed without any notes).
