Yesterday we were up at 8am to visit a temple a little way away from the others at Angkor.
Well worth the journey as it was the best preserved and made from red sandstone. Only small but probably the most beautiful.
Back to the hotel for 11am we managed to fit in a quick walk around Siam Reap and some last minute shopping then showered, changed, grabbed a sanwich then off to the airport at 13:45 - all a bit hectic in 32C heat. Shattered before we start as we had been up till 12:30am the previous night trying to check in.
All the rest of our group could check in online but every time we tried it just said "BA cannot confirm your seats at this time"
Flight to Bangkok was short but sweet on Bangkok airways - quite impressed with their service but they did not have a vegetarian meal.
Our hopes of an upgrade were dashed at Bangkok where after 20mins the check in desk managed to check us in - apologies but no explanation as to what was wrong with our booking but selves executive club online showed we had two bookings for the same flight!
6 hours at Bangkok hanging around the Novotel where we had a Buffet evening meal before the flight at 12:10am, arrived Heathrow at about 6am (BA of course had my vegetarian meal but nothing to write home about) this morning after a 13 hour flight then another 4 hours before our flight back to NCL. one of our group was traveling first class so asked the steward to bring down two glasses of champagne for me and Sylvie which was very nice.
Surprisingly Bangkok Airways offer a service where they check your bags through even though you cannot check in for the BA flight until after the first leg - strange but pleased to see our bags at Newcastle some 28 hours after we said goodbye to them at Siam Reap.
