To get from Sihanoukville to Siem Reap, you have to travel through Phnom Penh. Our bus arrived in the capital at around mid morning on Friday 10 August. We were dropped outside the bus company offices (common practise - they don't often take you to the bus station) where we were in time to get a connecting ticket to Siem Reap leaving in 10 minutes. At around midday on Saturday 4 August, after a pretty uneventful bus journey from Phnom Penh, we arrived in the chilled out town of Sihanoukville. Our bus arrived in Phnom Pehn a little after lunch time on Thursday 2 August. We walked to a nearby coffee shop to get our bearings and come up with a plan, and then emerged to get a tuk-tuk. Apparently most of the drivers are actually farm workers who come in from the country when there is not a lot of farm work, so a lot of them can't read maps and they don't know their way around the city.
