26th April - 5th May 

 We've been a bit slack at updating the blog from Bali so we'll give a quick sum-up.

Stayed for a couple of days in Kuta in a really nice resort. Gez was feeling pretty rough from a cold so was good to stay in a decent room. Headed to Kuta beach on the second day where Kev had a surf lesson with a local surf dude called Joel. Kev thought he was a bit of a pro by the end although he did sort of stand up and rode the waves twice! (he's shouting at me to write to check the pictures!)

Day 3 we headed to Ubud, a small town in the middle of Bali, about an hours ride in a beaten up bus. Only stayed there one night but really nice place, watched some Balinese dancing at the local palace which was pretty good.

Caught the bus and then a 6 hour boat to the Gili islands. stayed at Gili Trawangan...paradise! we absouloutely loved this place, so far our favourite place we;ve been. we arrived in the pitch black so had to trust one of the local guys who said he was taking us to some bungalows, had to walk through the local village when they'd just had a power cut! Luckily we arrived at some really nice bungalows. Dropped our bags off then sat round the pool with some locals playing guitar and singing.
