Saturday and Sunday
This will be the last post of my blog for a few weeks due to the circumstances of change in travelling plans.
We spent Saturday sorting out cancelling hotels and flights booked over the next few weeks, and my sister booked us to get on the flight back to the UK the following day with Nick. My mum was relieved and said my auntie - by the way who has been following my blog like a real supporter and caring about every step I've taken on my journey, was in tears also pleased with the news she wouldn't be without family at Christmas, as usually it would be the four of us with her and my grandad and also my other grandad. It was obviously not meant to be the four of us being away for Christmas which is something we've never done before anyway.
In the afternoon, the four of us visited Ayutthaya's floating market and got on a boat which took us around the market which was quite pretty. There was some sort of show going on which reminded me of the type of pirate show you'd get on at a theme park. Lauren and I were infuriated to see a monkey attached my a lead and collar being put to perform for people, I caught a brief glimpse of it doing sit-ups and felt my stomach turn and had to walk away. It was really upsetting and is the first time
I'd seen something outrageous like that in front of my own eyes - it shows how the old town is different to the more tourist type areas. Unfortunately, the shopping wasn't great so with last minute plans changing I was sad to not have found anything suitable to get for my auntie as its also her birthday on Thursday. My auntie lives with my grandad so it's again sad, but what better a gift to give someone then your time, so my sister, mum and I have planned to go spend the evening with her as a girls night in.
Saturday night we were still emotional and tired and there wasn't much more to see in Ayutthaya which reminded me a bit of Vientiane (Laos) so we all decided to get a takeaway pizza at the hostel, watched one of the Harry Potter films and got an early night.
Sunday, I was feeling very apprehensive about coming home. Nick had been amazingly supportive the last few days and I felt lucky to have him there for me when I didn't want to lean too much on my sister knowing she'd be feeling the same emotion as me. It has been hard as I've been away for 10 weeks and the last time I saw my parents was on happy terms - aside from me disappearing for a while, but I know they are supportive of how I choose to make the most of living my life. It was also hard knowing I had to leave Lauren, who I'd spent all this time closely with. After we had breakfast, we all chilled with Loz until she had to leave to get an earlier train as she was continuing on with the flight we'd booked to head to south Thailand. My sister and I went on to have manicures and pedicures done in the old town whilst Nick had a massage, and then we headed to the airport for the long flight home.
My journey begins again on 5th January 2016 in Australia xxx
