I'm baaaack!!

And it's difficult. I'm back in the place I've been for the last 4 months, a place I'm pretty comfortable in now, but with no one I am comfortable with. I associate this place, this city, with my friends from last semester. It's an odd adjustment. Especially because everyone expects me to be an expert on the city: I suppose I am compared to the new students, but I also feel like I'm a bit of a letdown. I'm not as much of an expert as I feel I should be; my Spanish isn't as impressive as it should be; I'm not good at making plans and suggesting places to go like people expect.

I'm also going to have to try to make a lot of friends from other groups, I think. The majority (and by majority, I mean all but about 2) have classes on Fridays. This makes traveling on weekends a lot more difficult- the people who had class on Fridays last semester ended up missing out on a lot of our weekend trips. Hopefully I can meet some other people without class so that we can all travel together. There are so many places in Ecuador I still want to see!

School is hard once more as well. I have gone to 3 classes and I already have about 150 pages of reading to do. Woohoo!

That's about it for now. I went on the tour of Quito on Saturday- same one as last semester. My face got very badly sun burnt after walking around under heavy cloud cover. You'd think I'd have learned by this point.
