What a beautiful place . Santorina is an island that was once an active volcano. Around 1650 BC the volcano massively erupted and the centre collapsed. The ocean rushed in and filled the space that was left. The volcano is now dormant, but not extinct and it is monitored for any sign of new activity. The houses are perched on top of the cliffs. They are mostly painted white and some have blue domed rooves. Glenn and I had a great time exploring the narrow path ways that open up to beautiful views. We even got brave enough to start buying souvenirs!! Lol.
