Hi all!! We had a blast in Airlie Beach and met some lovely people! We left Airlie and took a bus overnight to Rainbow Beach where we stayed for a night before leaving on a guided tour to Fraser Island. The weather in Rainbow beach was awful, raining cats and dogs and cold!!!!!! It was like that for part of the first day on Fraser as well but then it brightened up to 30 degrees again!! Fraser Island was cool, its the largest sand island in the world and it was so bumpy as the highway is the beach. We swam in Eli Creek and went to Indian Head lookout and saw some whales in the distance we also watched a baby eagle laerning to fly which was amazing and so funny!!! We went to a lake which you could swim in but you could see these huge fish in there so needless to say not even our feet went in!!! We had a bbq that evening and a dingo came right up to us and barked!!!??? (apparently they can't bark they only howl!!) The next day we had a long walk and we lost some of the tour group because I (Nat) told them the wrong directions.....oops! So our tour guide had to drive off and find them!! he he! We went to Lake McKenzie in the afternoon which was absolutely beautiful, the samd was pure white and the water was gorgeous! We then went back to Rainbow Beach and got ready to leave for Surfers Paradise the next day!
