Yesterday we made our way down to Townsville from Cairns. Townsville was gorgeous, such a lovely small city- so nice to live in! We were so brave last night, we cooked our first meal in a hostel- pasta in a honey and mustard sauce, it was revoluting and we felt so sick after! The hostel we were staying in was like a home for the poor people that cant afford a house- a woman had just had a baby there!!!! This morning we got the ferry to Magnetic island. It's beautiful, the most amazing beaches! Unfortunatly its my first experience of dorm rooms...... hmmmm! no comment! Tonight we are going to take a walk that you can see koalas in the wild (i hope they don't attack like the monkeys!!) Tommorow we're hiring a 'Moke' they're funky small cars with no sides!!! We're also going to take snorkel gear round the island with us and i'm hiring a wetsuit as I haven't swam in the sea offshore yet, too scared of the stingers!!! h and it didn't help that i stood there reading all the effects od stings yesterday!! We just used the hostel kitchen to make MORE pasta (tomato sauce) and it was ok this time, thank goodness as we cant afford anything else- we're soooooo poor!!! ..... accepting donations!!!!!
