Like other cruise ships ours is a floating hotel and self-contained community. It’s a pretty well-appointed vessel with numerous, spacious public areas indoors and out. Several bars and restaurants and the obligatory on board duty free shops and so on. The ship carries around 2,500 passengers and has about 800 crew. Most of the waiting and housekeeping crew are Indonesian – with a few other nationalities as well. The officers are Italian – MSC being an Italian line – and the entertainment team are mostly European. We have a balcony cabin on Deck 9 in the mid-ships area where the pitching of the ship, in rough seas, is felt less severely. Our cabin is perfectly adequate – very comfortable actually; and the bed is great. No problems nodding off to sleep. Helped of course by the gentle rocking of the ship. I’ve posted a few photos of on board if you’re interested. Including one of the MSC Orchestra which was the ship we sailed on from Western Australia to Gallipoli in 2015. We were moored behind it in Barcelona. Take a look. Ciao
