Day 2 Lakes Entrance to Batemans Bay:
We woke up to an awesome view out our window of the historic wooden trestle bridge. This wasn't the original plan but we couldn't find the camp spot from the map last night and this Plan B was probably better. We went for a walk along the bottom of the bridge before hitting the road - and immediately started to have engine problems with the bus (we still haven't agreed on a name). There was a quick stop in Orbost to take a few photos at the Snowy River and toot the horn at the footy players (on a Saturday morning). We continued to stop and stall and start again for a few k's before Kent rang a mate (who is an absolute legend!) for some advice. Kent managed to fix the problem with the engine but it had put us at least 2 hours behind and we arrived in Eden about 3pm. Callen still had a fever so we walked along the beach a little way but he wasn't very happy :( Back on the bus we headed for Bega and arrived there right on dusk, where at the service station we realized we had a very flat tyre! Luckily it was one of the back tyres so Kent pumped it up again and we decided to take a risk and continue driving - tomorrow being Sunday, we aren't sure if we will find a repair place open :( So we didn't see much of the cheese factory at Bega in the dark and drove another 2+ hours to Batemans Bay. A very eventful day, with Callen being sick, the bus having engine problems AND a flat tyre! Hopefully we will find somewhere tomorrow to fix the tyre and see some good sights along the coast as we continue north.

Ruth Saltmarsh Hope you have no more problems. Beautiful trip, I did this when I took Melanie's car up to her. We stayed with friends in Bateman's Bay. The trip up the coast is beautiful, did it right up to Sydney going on the road that goes out over the sea and walked the bridge with all the padlocks along it. Then we went through the National Park into Sydney. Just had Scott in here and he has read the blog as well. Have a great trip.
Lisa Hemley wow - and that is day two... imagine what the rest of the trip will bring...!
