At about 7:30am we 'anchored' off Nha Trang and soon after 8am we were on a tender, heading to the port. On the way, we passed by a very long cable way which carries passengers from the mainland across to the island of VinPearl.
The bus drove along the beachfront which is very pretty and full of tourist resorts and restaurants. The first stop was just before the bridge across the Cai River. We walked across the bridge and the bus met us on the far side.
Next stop was at Hong Chong Promontory where we took in the scenic view and were treated to a musical performance by two girls in traditional costume.
Next we visited the ancient Ponagar Cham Towers and then the embroidery factory where we purchased a small framed picture for one million Dong...about $60.
After that we visited the Long Son Pagoda and climbed a large series of steps to see two Buddha statues...one called the Lying Buddha and the other called the Big Buddha.
We also visited the Cho Dam Market and another venue where we were provided refreshments served in a Coconut Shell.
