After a 9 hour flight, we landed in Brisbane at 6:30am.

We had a pleasant flight, watched a couple of movies, lost a day crossing the International Date Line, and landed about 7pm.

We flew this leg on Emirates A380-800 Rego A6-EDE and took a fairly southerly route near the tip of India and over Sri Lanka. We crossed the coast near Broome and flew over Alice Springs before landing in Brisbane at 6:10am.

This story starts aboard Emirates flight EK435, an A380-800 rego A6-EET. We finally departed an hour late at 10pm for our first trip on a 380. Our seats are in the very back row on the left hand side and seem quite roomy. There's a crew cabin area to our right where the middle seats should be, so we can't see across the cabin but it does feel quite cosy.Our first meal was served just before midnight and was really quite good. Even Chelsea enjoyed hers...

Back on the same aircraft, we continued the trip home. We had a good view of a huge number of ships in Singapore Harbour and later I could see a cluster of Volcanos on Java poking up through the clouds. We crossed the Australian coast over Derby at 6:30 pm Brisbane time...3 and a half hours to go. Sunset occurred about 45 minutes later and the rest of the flight was in total blackness.
