Ed And Rach
Just spent a jealous half hour catching up on your adventure. Sounds like you've had an amazing time in Jordan. Rach and I were floating on the Israeli side of the dead sea in Sept, great fun and leaves a lasting memory if you've had a recent shave! I wonder if that low-flying Tornado had an RAF rotunda on it? A few of our friends made the hop from Cyprus to Jordan for a 4 week exercise there recently, would have been rather embarressing if Biggles had been taken out by British Army friendly fire! On to Africa!
Die "m&m´s"
Hello Dear Friends,
we´re back home now in cold old Germany. 4°C. Central Heating, Lamps, Stove, Oven, Stereo-Set, all switched on to get the flat warm.
After we met in Damascus we had some great experiences: The best were the archeologic sites and the exhibitons in Homs, Apameia, Ugarit, etc. In the area of Aleppo a VIP-General crashed into our Landcruiser with 100-150 mph. Good luck: nobody in our car was injured, Bad luck: Landcruiser was seriously damaged, I went into prison for two days, allthought I was not guilty.
We´re watching your trip with great interest, we´re with you!

Hi, sweethearts. This all looks great. Tks for your pc which I got when back from Arran where you two had crossed my minds - specially when I bought some herrings and saw people swimming in the sea!!!!!!!!!! Love the beard. Lots of love.

I attended an event at School last night and thought of you guys.
It was an interview with Sally Greene who owns Old Vic Productions and also revamped Richmond Threate eons ago! She showed us an amazing video about redevelopment around The Cut ... reminded of the time B & I came to a reading of a play by Rich - summer of 2001? - with Camilla behind the lens!
Take care,
-U.
Karen & Charlie And The Boys
What an amazing website - I have just found it and will show the others - I expect it will give the boys grand ideas. It looks as if you are having a fantastic time - loved seeing the photos of Egypt and Petra which we visited a few years ago. It doesn't look like we will overlap in Tanzania - we are in Selous National Park from11 Dec for a week and then on Mafia Island coming home on Xmas Day. Are off to see the Constant Gardener soon and have just read the book. John reminded me you met them all filming it - but I expect the new Wallace and Gromit will be just as good!!!. All is well here, now I have found you will keep logging on. Much love to you both, Karenxx
Margo
Haven't 'logged on' for a while so just clicked in to have a quick look to see where you are and have spent a fascinating hour catching up and thoroughly enjoying the tales and looking at your amazing photographs. It all sounds fantastic and am already looking forward to the next episode! Take care.

Happy African Travels from 2 other Kennington Trans-Africans
It was the Kennington to Cape Town that caught my eye. We left Kennington on May 11th 2000, having hatched our African plan in the Dog House on Kennington Lane 3 months earlier. We did the same route as you in our trusty 30 year old bright yellow Land Rover 101 with our Rottweiler for company. We arrived in Cape Town 18 months later having had a fantastic time with loads of experiences. We settled in Cape Town for 2.5 years, just enough time for Sue to have our 2 sons, then it was off to Namibia for a few months before returning to England in July 2004.
We will follow your site closely and look forward to more diary postcards,

Fantastic!!! We're travelling vicariously with you from the office! You're both looking great - Rich you're looking more and more like David Bellamy - is that the aim?

Hi Camilla & Richard,
I've just spent this morning going through your photos, very impressive. It looks like your having a fantastic time, Biggles looks well which is saying something for a Land Rover.
Also enjoyed reading your messages of support, I knew there would be a sarky message in there from Mr Fish.
It seems ages since you left, and you still you have another18,000 miles to go, lucky for some. I'm going to have to go now because some of us have to work. We shall all have to meet up when you get back, maybe I'll see you at Rupert and Jennie's engagement party?.
Take Care
Rob
Reggie Again
