Day 2 started off with a early start due to some serious jet lag but it was nice to see some similar faces on Skype. The breakfast is far from a great as it consists of the world's smallest muffins and the sucky coffee. It turned out the shared shower doesn't lock so I had to stand guard whist kelly gets dribbled on (by the shower) for 20 mins!

We then walked 1 and a half hours through downtown San Francisco and headed to the bay. After some crazy steep hills we made it to pier 39 and the sun was shining, so we took a load off and yammed our leftover Chinese. Pier 39 was buzzing and has some proper cool shops and restaurants. We mucked around in the arcade, watched street performers, magicians and discovered the beer and doughnuts beats egg and bacon for the best combo award!

After walking around gorgeous fisherman's wharf for a bit more we headded to pier 33 for our night tour at Alcatraz.

It had been sunny and warm but as we boarded the boat you could see the prison was shrouded in fog and the closer we got the colder if felt. Alcatraz had a great audio tour which described life as a prisoner and explained cool attempted escapes. The prison had an eerie feel as every thing remained well preserved, from the grenade explosion marks on the floor to a bloodie hand print on the wall. We were on the island for 3 hours and I aposoloutly loved it. Alcatraz was scarerlly brilliant.

We then caught the f line tram to 4th street and walked back to our crusty motel and crashed. Quality day n night.
