Another day; another border. We simply drove straight through Mozambique which was quite disappointing, but when you have to cover as much ground as we do (20,000km) then I guess you can't see everything. The main thing we had in Mozambique was rain, but it was a nice break from really harsh sunshine and sweaty bodies, especially since it was nice enough to just rain whilst we were on the truck driving and we had breaks in the rain whilst we set up or broke camp. Zimbabwe's currency is now the USD however the state of the notes... they have certainly been passed through a few hands and not been back to the good old USofA for a clean in a while. It is nice however not to have to do the mental arithmetic of recent countries to ensure that you were not been robbed blind or in some cases bargaining for half an hour to save a dollar. Nick and Ruth decided tonight that maybe we could just head straight to Great Zimbabwe as it was raining and the next stop was just for walking and we wouldn't want to walk in the rain. We decided that it was an offer too late as if we were to gain a day then we would have like that day in Mozambique - which we had now left! We stood our ground and headed to Chimanimani. To be fair, they had removed Harare from our tour, which we only learnt today. Funny how it is a democracy on decisions unless they decide to suit themselves and make a change and inform us when it is too late to put up alternative ideas. Sometimes I wish I had my own car so that I could make my own decisions - next time J
