Full day of driving yesterday. We crossed the equator again and stopped for a quick group shot with the truck this time. Our driver and tour leader seem to want to get where we are going when we are moving so it was lunch on the moving truck today. Why stopping for 20 minutes to just stand on solid ground would be such a major drama is beyond me - but then they are the boss! I rode up in the cab for a bit today which was fun. It is still rather bumpy in the cab, although I didn't ever get the 30cm of air which is not uncommon in the back of the truck. Interestingly the speed bumps in Uganda are all in multiples and so we spend a day bumping over up to 5 consecutive speed bumps. It was either that they were so proud of the first one they decided to celebrate with 4 more or they were so unhappy with the first 4 that it took 5 to perfect their skill. Guess it is one of those things that we will just never know.
In Kampala tonight and have a free morning tomorrow as we are only a short drive from Jinja our next destination. We are nearing the half way point on our trip which will be in Nairobi in a few days. Time really has flown.
I am pleased to say that I have used everything that I bought with me so am not having any buyers remorse, even though Judith did think that I suffered from a shopping addiction affectionately referred to as Shopitis. She will be amused to hear that I have had to buy some more stuff here!! hehe
