Kells travels
Next it was onto here the furthest part of our trip think it worked out approx 850 miles north of Perth... We came here as our skydive on my b'day got canx as not enough others booked it, was a little gutted but that soon past ha ha. Anyway the point of coming here was to swim with Whale sharks YIKES!! So after a night here we got picked up for the adventure of a lifetime... We were taken to Ningaloo reef where we boarded a boat & were taken off. I completed my 1st certified dive in the am was a little nervous but did good, the dive site wasn't very impressive was nothing compared to what I'd seen in Vietnam or Bali the only highlight was a turtle. After my dive came the exciting part swimming with the whale shark, to be honest I didn't know what to expect which was prob a good thing as when I saw the monster of a thing I nearly cried with fear.... We had to suddenly jump off the back of the boat split into 2 groups so the shark would swim between us. Well the lady kept shouting saying guys look down his coming along now, well I was thinking to myself liar as couldn't see it then all of a sudden I saw this massive whale shark with the biggest mouth heading straight at me... I have never been so scared & swam so quick in my life to get out of it's way ha ha It was HUGE 8m long, we then swam along with it & were able to dive down beside him. I did this a couple of times & the fear never seemed to pass at any time, however my fear did increase when had a 5ft shark circling me whilst in the sea could only happen to me.... Anneli u said I would prob get eaten by a shark & ur prob be right if I keep putting myself in these situations!! Anyone who comes to western oz should def do this, also whilst on the boat there were reports of wild humpback whales in the sea too. I was so surprised when I actually saw one was totally amazing to see a wild whale for the 1st time, again have some pics but u guys prob won't be able to tell what it is ha ha
