Landed in Vegas on Thursday night - what a sight to see the strip when we were landing (ok kel had her eyes closed and managed to see at least a wee bit through her fingers). Stayed in downtown Vegas which was an experience in itself - at least we are getting to see America like it is in the gangster movies (dont worry mums and dads we are safe now). We really enjoyed the Bellagio waterfountains - very classy and managed to visit all the main hotels Caesars, Venetian, Mirage, New York New York blah blah blah..... We cant exactly say we had a ball - for starters we couldnt get any cider and trying to even find a bar where we could get a beer without gambling away all our spending money beforehand was near impossible. Gill managed to sniff out the beer though and we spent quite some time in Margaritaville. P.s - why didnt anyone tell us it was so bloody hot - we nearly collapsed with heat exhaustion after half an hour carrying our beloved backpacks. Gill nearly collapsed carrying her handbag when we were walking about the strip on day 1 - weakling! It was all worth it for the experience. Roll on windy San Francisco.
