Six days at sea, Hard to find something to write about that would be worth reading after six days at sea. After the lights of Easter Island faded we were back onboard Ocean Princess for six straight days of eating, laying in the sun and entertainment. Joy and I had fallen into a routine of sorts. I would wake early walk 30 laps around the deck (about two miles) then off to the gym for a 10 mile bike ride 40 sit-ups and a 10 minute visit to the steam room.
Now here's a funny place the steam room. Okay I get it I'm not the type to walk around a gym with my parts hanging out but what's with the guy who every other morning would appear in the fog of the steam room with not even a towel and plop down and put his feet in the air? Time to get out of there! Then there's the people who show up to the show ten minutes late and walk through the spot light that is trained on the singers/dancers on stage or the 6'5 guy who sits on the front row every show?
Anyway Joy wakes up around 8:30 heads to the Ocean Princess Starbucks for her coffee fix and a read by the pool till 10:15 trivia. By now I am at a lecture that ranged from French Polynesia to World War II and another lecture on the automobile from inception to current. I would sometimes take breakfast at the sit down fancy breakfast but most of the time breakfast was off the back of the ship buffet.
Other things we did that are out of our norm were golf putting contest into the pool (I missed the pool) to Joy making a wish box out of scrap paper (hey there's a lot of free time!). At 3:00 there would be a cookie wagon pushed around the pool with warm cookies and cold milk (I hit the lottery and I'm getting one of these). 3 to 4 was happy hour at the casino so I would stock up on my IPA beers and Joy would have afternoon trivia. Her team was finally accused of cheating after they won their 10th go.
We would check the dinner menu at 5:00pm and decide whether we would join our other passengers at the fancy dinner or head for the Golden Corral buffet. Finally after dinner shows and on more than one occasion I helped close down the disco at 12:30am. And the next morning we would start the process all over again.
I think Joy and I are going to be small ship lovers from here on out as after 25 days not only did I know everybody onboard but they knew me, it was like a small town on the sea.
But all must come to an end and that we did arriving in Bora Bora for a quick visit, we had a lunch at Bloody Mary's which is frequented by the elite. Back onboard we headed for Moorea and a long hike up to the falls that Joy missed several years ago because it was raining and she didn't want to get wet (see blog of Moorea a couple of years ago).
We finally made it to Tahiti and were saddened by the sudden loss of all our new friends but shortly we were shuttled to Tikihau and made new friends and adventures to be continued in our next blog. As I am sitting here at 11:45 am drinking my first beer and writing this blog. May the force be with you.

judy see? and you were worried about the demographic on the boat...from the sounds of it, you make excellent junior-retirees...hahaha
Northcoasters So you have graduated to being a "R" boar lovers. We loved the Azamara Journey perfect size. From laps and trivia to counting fish species. Enjoy island life and soon there will be your own small boat. Still a great blog. Waiting for the next one.
