Subic
The journey to subic didn't go as planned as our tyre burst near the beginning and then we got stuck in traffic. Luckily we left early arriving at Aunty Marissa's family home at 11am instead of 9am.
Zoobic Safari was our next destination. It was a crazy place. We got to have our picture taken with a real Tiger. I was quite nervous but was pleased we were not posing with the gorgeous huge white tiger in the cage angrily pacing up and down his cage. The tiger we posed with seemed calm if not slightly fed up! Unreal experience as Neil fed him a bottle if milk.
There was then a show with all the animals the more exotic being a crocodile, tiger cub, ostrich, snakes and parrot while the others were farm animals, ducks, birds, cats, dogs, rats. The show was pretty impressive seeing what the animals could do dance, tricks to humours music but I'm easily entertained.
Then we boarded a bus/train, which took us around the zoo/safari. The areas included, Croco Loco, Forbidden Cave, Ostrich farm. The best part was getting into a caged bus and going into the tiger enclosure. A guy fed chicken to a tiger and he jumped up
Onto the bus. We were so close to the tigers we got wet from his fur as he was bathing in the pond.
We got to see wild monkeys in the trees. There was a feeding area with birds, deer, goats, camels, carabao, ponies, otters and pigs.
Neil and I got to zip line through the forest and zip line back which felt like Peter Pan style flying.
We ended the trip with a lovely dinner which was included in the deal.
That night we stayed with Aunty Marissa's family in Bataan. We went round to all the homes of her brothers and sisters who lived on the village. Her uncle had the best house with a mad roof garden with hundreds of pot plants and cabinets of collections of action figured, toy figurines, magnets and framed collected key chains.
We watched the Pacqiao Vs Marques fight at Aunties sisters on paper view. There was the Filipino yummy spread, fried fish and chicken, vegetables and rice. It was a sad day for the Philippines as Pacqiao was knocked out for the first time ever by Marques in the last second of the 5th round.
So sad in fact that after the fight we all laughed when we heard the sound of a loud tearful ballad being played on the streets, we naturally assumed it was due to the Pacqiao loss! The laughter soon subsided when we realised it was a funeral that had waited for the fight to finish before heading to the nearby cemetery. The laughter soon returned as Lola found the whole thing hilarious.
