3 days in Wellington
On the boat ride from Picton to Wellington we found out it was J's birthday. He turned 25 (In Korea 26) and he wasn't going to mention it. I was in shock so we planned a night out with Laura Murch (a new bud) and the drivers for J's bday and a goodbye drink to the drivers. So our first night in Wellington we bought J a cake and card, had dinner and met him for a basement good time lol! Base bars are always shocking and look like student bars but they are cheap. It wasn't very busy but we had fun dancing to Ganglam Style. I drank the drivers drink of vodka and water and lime and still woke up with the worst headache.
Luckily we had 3 days in Wellington so no early start. We found some cool little streets and street art a lovely afternoon exploring NZ's capital.
The next day we picked up a sushi pack lunch from New World and walked up Mt Victoria. It was steep and half an hour of intense walking (unfit much). The 360 views were beautiful and worth the climb. The descent down was a much easier stroll where we got to see some of the most beautiful houses, huge wooden homes on the hills clearly worth millions. Once we got to the bottom we ate our lunch by the harbour and then went for a swim and steam room at the swimming pool.
Wellington was a lovely place and some incredible houses. Would loved to have had some real money to shop and bar hop...maybe next time!
