The picture for this blog is the Grand Palace, I thought people might like to see it. We haven't! 3 times in Bangkok and usually we see Khao San Road and the Airport.

After a nice evening with Dave and Claire the next day we headed up to Kanchanaburi. Its not far from Bangkok, only 2hrs, its a small town, but has some typical bars and a decent number of westerners being so easy to get to from BK. We booked up to do the Elephant experience, writing it wont do it justice so you will have to wait for the pics but lets just say trekking and then going into the river to wash them was amazing.

We headed back to Bangkok for the weekend so that we could properly catch up with Dave & Claire, They were perfect hosts and took us to some really cool bars with a 6 piece all girl band and an ice bar and plenty of beers. Dave & Claire thankyou so much we had an amazing time and were sad to leave.

Suffering from beer blues after leaving D & C we headed over to the grottiest, dirtiest, cockroach ridden hostel Khao San Rd has to offer (New Joes Guest House). I promised Nic last time we stayed there was the last but at 3.50p per night and knowing a night out with Andy & Chrissy would be messy it turned out we really only used the room to store the bags and sleep only after getting to bed at 5am. Thanks Andy & Chrissy it was mental night as usual, followed the next day by a fish massage and a swim in hotel pool we didnt stay at.
