Good evening comrades,
Tonight we speak to you from zakopane, Poland. After spending our first night in the rather delightful Best Western Hotel at Gatwick Airport we boarded our EasyJet flight to Krakow.
After arriving at Hotel we jumped on a bus into the city centre, not sure of how to by a ticket we used the ignorance setting and didnt buy one. The centre square at Krakow is outstanding, brilliant buildings, old style bars with lovely bars surrounding the square. We sat and whiled away a few hours with the local Tyskie lager and some excellent Polish food.
Next day was Auschwitz, not much to say, it was how you would expect and the fact it rained from beggining to end just made the place a reality that it was only 65yrs ago it all happened.
After sinking a number of beers last night and enjoying some of the nightlife Krakow we had a lazy morning before getting a small tour bus to the local salt mines. Perhaps this sounds a little boring and touristy but believe us it is an amazing tour and puts Wookey Hole well in its place.
We then moved onto our current location Zakopane, its a touristy place in the foothills of the Tatras mountains. Its a bit like Bowness on acid, not many English heads but its obviuosly popular with the Polish.
Off to budaoest tomorrow, not being the greatest of planners its going to be a ten hour mission on a mini-bus and two trains but we got the playing cards and episodes of The Mighty Boosh on the Iplod.
Love to you all, hope the sun is shining where-ever you are.
Mr & Mrs Keay
