Well we trabelled to Kanchanburi on the local train so only has 3rd class seats so they are wooden with no aircon but with all windows open was fine we were only on their for 3 hours so it wasnt to bad although was bit hot! We arrived and stayed one night at the hostel the jolly frog before being picked up the next day by the elephants friends people, we were going to stay 3 nights but ended up only staying the 1 night will explain why bit later, so we were picked up in a pick up truck and put all out stuff in the back(we have a fair few bags now) and got in and drove about 1/2 hour to the conservation park, we met the owner called Phot and he had a volunteer their called Jon from australia and his lovely girlfriend Gob(shes thai) they made us feel very welcome always checking if we were hungary etc the bed rooms were fine aswell and had a make shift shared bathrom but had western loo and nice cold shower which is all you want when its so hot its also hotter here than bangkok to which is hard to beleive as was so hot there but this is the hottest place in thailand temps reaching more than 40 degrees vereee hot, anway they have 5 elephants there 4 females and 1 tuskless male we helped go get food which is bananas and leaves and trunks of banana trees so they filled up the pick up truck with all this stuff like really really high then everyone has to jump on top to ride back its all very scarey altho we didnt have to do it we got to sit in the front bonus of being a white tourist we dont have to rough it as much, then in the afternoon we got to do the best thing of all we got to ride an elephant each bare backed along to the river kwai where we bathed and washed it(was more like an elephant ride into the water ten laying around with it getting dunked in and like a rodeo on their backs was loads of fun) and then we walked back on the elephants and to get on and off the locals just clamber up the trunks or their legs but for used there is ike a platform so got on that way but on the way back the stupid an i was with told me to sort of slide off so of course this led to disaster theres me all wet from the river wearing no sandals trying to slide off this elephant so i come crashing down cut my knee, hands and elbow so thats bit sore and then the next day in the morning after collecting more food then having another ride jon was on the platform climbing onto an elephant and it moved slightly so jon fell from the top of the elephant hitting himself on this big wooden platform on the way down and really hurt his sheen is al swollen and bruised like my knee so we decided to stay only the 1 night and was quite expensive to stay there and didnt do alot there so we thought only make it the 1 night as we came to help and ride them etc and we did that in the first day but when we told them we were only staying thwe 1 night they didnt really talk to us after that so i think we pissed them off but there you go,also saw the most sickest thing in my life the elephant was going for a poo and it sort of got stuck so the owner comes over and covers his hands and sort of pulls it out with both hands and he is just pulling and pulling and so much green poo is coming ut it must be solid !!! was gross but so funny!!! there is so much to do in Kanchanburi so tomorrow we are going to a temple where monks live and they live with real tigers yes you did hear me right real tigers and you can go there touch them etc going to be crazy knowing me ill have an accident there to and then next day going to this lovely national park where it has a erwan waterfal which has 7 levels and the pics look amazing so cant wait to go there and see the river kwai bridge
Today we went to see the tiger temple, didnt see any temple only the tigers we went to see them in something called tiger canyon and when we got there there was like 8-10 tigers chained for extra safety and you give staff your camera and get your pic taken with most of them either stroking their bellys or just stroking their head was very surreal, suspected that they may have been drugged because i dont know how this can happen otherwise they say they are not drugged and controlled by monks but i dont think that happens cos they are wild tigers how come they dont just go mad at you but anyway was good to do it and have lots of pics to prove it which i will put on the site soon, went to the national park today got the local bus there and got totally ripped off when we got there is starting to really piss me off that we have to pay double for everything just cos were foreign can u imagine if england did it it would be an outcry!!!! anyway rant over the waterfall was nice but not worth the money to get in really spending tomorrow crusing around on a moped we went to see the bridge over the river kwai which was good to see getting some history etc then heading back to bangkok thursday xx
