Well the amtrak journey took 9 hours but went so fast we had 2 seats to ourselves and we thought we were in first class as they were so nice and comfy good old USA. We arrived into this hilly billy town i even thought i saw some tumble weeds blowing across in the gale! It was deserted and really really cold - mum i cant thank you enough for telling me to take my coat i would have turned into a statue of ice if i hadnt it was only about 2 degrees! We found our hostel on Main Street but even this was deserted everything was shut and it was a sat night!!! However the hostel was great was really massive, clean and the staff were so helpful they sorted everything out for us to go to niagara falls that night so off we went down to the bus station -again deserted, got the bus took an hour then we arrived in the pitch black and it was pouring with rain we got off at the wrong stop and got lost, we finally managed to find our way across the bridge between Canada and the USA saw the falls then when we got stanmped into Canada the guy says that Jono hasnt got his visa part in his passport and tells us that Jono wont be allowed back into America and could get arrested as he is travelling without his visa!!!!!!! The nightmare has begun so we cant enjoy the falls as were worrying that Jono would be stranded in Canada and mum and dad would get a nice reverse charge call demanding help from the US embassy!!! So we go back and try and wangle it the guy asks Jono where his visa part is and we play dumb and say we dont know and he says that all we have to do it pay $6 to get another one phew!!!!!! So we went back the next day in the light and took some great pics and glad we went back and saw it in the day. That night when when we got back really late we say a TGI Fridays in this awful town so we thought lets treat ourselves we had a lovely starter then the mains came jono took one bite of his "steak sandwich" and went to the loo to be sick we complained and didnt have to pay but the night was getting worse as time went on, got to the hostel and just had an early night even though we were in a 12 bed hostel it wasnt actually that bad didnt hear anyone come in or out apart from this kid who was watching lord of the rings but then his nan told him to go to bed so got some sleep at last!!!! I swear when i herad the trains go past at nightime through this town it sounded like a ghost train. The next day after we had seen the falls again we went to the restaurant in Buffalo that was the first place that started up the original buffalo chicken wings!!! Was nice and then we headed up to the airport to catch our flight to vegas!!!
