So we arrived in New Zealand and got straight onto the adrenaline stuff in the bungee crazed town of Queenstown. And before you get excited, no we didn't boing at the end of an elastic band. Instead we opted for a jet boat ride getting soaked whilst doing 360s in ridiculously narrow canyons. Awesome. Getting used to signing those disclaimer thingeys.
We then got stuck into one of New Zealand's passions - tramping. And no not your Bearded Lady of Guildford style of tramp but more the trekking kind of tramp. We'd previously booked ourselves onto one of New Zealand's 'Great Walks' and on the advice of a tramping legend we met in Tibet, we opted for the Routeburn Track - a 3 day hike near Milford Sound. On the advice of all Kiwis we prepared ourselves for lashings of rain, wind and the odd spot of summer snowfall. Turned out to be a bit of a pain to carry around our 10 layers when it turned out to be the hottest 3 days in history. Not that we were complaining as the tanning layers grew and grew... Absolutely one of the most beautiful walks in the world and pretty hardcore at times which made us feel very pleased with ourselves after nearly 2 months of debauchery in Australia.
So far, big tick for New Zealand.
