I left Sydney this morning, was awake at 6am (althought I barely slept last night) and caught the 7.05 shuttle to the airport for my flight to Melbourne at 9.15. My hostel is in the St Kilda area, it seems okay although it's a lot colder here than Sydney!! My room at the hostel is freezing!
I haven't been up to much the past few days, just chilling out before a busy two weeks. Saturday night we went down the pub and watched the Liverpool and Chelsea games. Sunday we went down to Bondi Beach as it was 30 degrees. It was also very, very windy, got sand everywhere! The water was freezing but still went in - there were 3 huge sharks spotted off the beach on Saturday so thought that was very brave of me. Last night was the Neighbours night in Sydney at the Coolabar. Only me and Pete went in the end, it cost $35 and it was also a trivia night. Pete and I were invited over to join an Irish guy called Chris and his English friend Faye. They were really nice. We did terrible at the quiz, don't think we even came anywhere! The stupid thing was that they did the quiz while the Neighbours stars were meeting and greeting everyone so we missed loads of questions!
It turned out that it was Steph, Toadie and Ned there last night (for anyone who watches Neighbours!). They each came round to everyone's tables to say hi and have photos taken. Steph came over first and she looks older in real life! She was also quite pissed, but she seemed nice. Then Toadie came round and he was lovely! We all had photos done and he was really chatty. Saved the best til last, Ned came over and I nearly wet myself!!! He asked me how I was and I asked him back and said 'can I have a picture please?' and he was like 'sure' and my brother, being embarrassing that he is said 'why are you blushing Kate?' and Ned laughed and I just said "it's a bit hot in here'. I could've died! He was very nice though and had a great arse!!! Check out the cheesy pics!
They didn't stay long as they had to catch a flight back to Melbourne. We left not long after but it was a good laugh. My camera decided to break on me yesterday, luckily it took some decent pictures last night but it's now not working again. I've taken it to a camera shop and they don't fix the make of camera that it is here, so I've had to buy a new one. It only cost me $199 (90 quid) and my memory card fits it. Just annoying as I can get my old one fixed at home, but couldn't go without a camera for the next 6 weeks as I've still got hundreds of photos to take!!!
I'm going to Ramsay Street tomorrow for the afternoon and on Wednesday am doing the Phillip Island tour to see the penguins! I leave Melbourne very early on Thursday morning so a lot to cram in two and a half days x x x x x
