So Noosa!!
Noosa Noosa Noosa. A really lovely place - the woman I sat next to on the 14 hour flight was going to Noosa to visit her family and stay there for 3 weeks - I can see why now, it is a really pretty place if you have lots of money to stay there a while! We left Rainbow Beach with a driver called Number 3 (no idea why) and got there about 10.30am which was strange arriving somewhere so early in the day, but it did mean we got to spend the whole afternoon chilling out in Noosa! We saw Kyle and Liam for like 2 minutes as they were just leaving Noosa on the bus we had just got in on. We got a shuttle to our lovely hostel, and managed to book into the same room as Gillian! It was a complete surprise for her, and we were so excited to see her! We caught up and got to the supermarket. We came back to the hostel, then met up with Mike and Alan who we had met on Fraser Island. We all went for a lovely walk by the river in the afternoon and we bumped into a snake! This snake happened to be a python, which a man was 'taking for a walk' on the beach! Such a random moment...we all recoiled in horror when we saw it was a snake, even the guys! Amber asked 'was it from the river?!' The man was happy to talk to us about his pet (crazy man) and he said if it was a calmer day he would have let the snake have a swim. Cue lots of questions in my head, like how would you get the snake back?!?? I still don't understand that one.
We stopped off for a milkshake then got back to our hostel. We got a pizza and drink for 10 dollars (bargain!) then played cards including scabby queen - the one time I dealt I forgot to put a queen in, so we were playing this without the queen, the whole point of the game is to avoid ending up with the queen at the end, so I thought this was a pretty good method of winning! It also defied the whole point of the game! Uno made an appearance of course, and we took the drinking back to our balcony (so posh for us mere backpackers!). With music and goon, we got nicely merry, and the night was pretty eventful! 3am and we decided it was definitely bedtime and sadly that was our only day in Noosa over. We wished we had a chance to stay there longer, but at least we got to see it. Next stop Brisbane (our first city experience after Cairns) Brisvegas here we come!
