An early start this morning 7.10am bus departure! We were ready, and got on the bus with Dave our driver. He drove us to Pahihia, up North at the entrance to the Bay of Islands. It was really nice up here, and quite warm. We got checked into a Base hostel and then went for a wander (Amber and I have decided this is one of our favourite things which we both like doing - just sussing a place out and 'having a wander'!). The town was nice, chilled out, and beautiful by the sea.

We didn't choose to do anything too active, we just read by the beach and chatted with a new friend called Jack. It got cold so we went back to the hostel and decided we really wanted Fish and Chips! So Amber and I went for the most delicious fish and chips we have had for the whole of our travels, even nicer to think the fish was pretty much caught that day.

We went back to the hostel and had a few drinks in the bar, at the start of the evening we were 'mingling' (Jack's word not ours!) with a complete group of random solo travellers and by the end of the night we were all dancing together, nice and merry! It was a good night although every other song was a reminder of all our friends from Oz :(
