I cannot believe how quiet Canberra is - there is literally no one here! I went for a walk this morning I don;t think I saw any cars for the first 10 monutes atleast! Crazy! The walking route I was following took me onto Anzac Parade which lef up to the War Memorial and the largest war museum in the world - apprently....All down the road there were different monuments honouring all the different armed forces and the men and women who have lost their lives in different wars. I got to the war memorial and had a look around the museum it was very good and some parts were very interesting. After this I set off on a walk up Mt. Ainslie - a big hill really - recommended walking time 1hr 1/2 Katie walking time 1hr and I stopped for a while at the top. There were good views of Canberra from the top. It was pretty warm the whole time I did the walk the sun was out. I headed back to the town centre and decided to visit Canberra Musueum and Galleries - what a waste of time! There were 5 galleries one was the museums permenent collection which was the most random selection of vaguely historic items I have aver seen! Antoehr one had five photos in of a human body lying face down in different contorted positions, 2 galleries were taken up with an exhibition of a womans paintings all of which were random stripes of paint which a five year old could have put together and the last gallery was about the Asutralia General Election in 18998. The only bit that really caught my attention was in a side room and was a collection of the museum staffs collectiosn - this included hats, decorated glasses, african bacgs, buddhas and teapots. Not the most interesting museum I have ever been to I managed to kill about 20 minutes there. I am not looking forward to the overnight bus to Melbourne tonight!
