We arrived in Hanoi late on the 12th, so the first morning we was up nice and early ready to explore the mad city Hanoi.
It was defiantly a mad city motorbikes coming from every where, the restaurants if you can call them that was just little stools to sit on and tables on side of the road it was mental. Dave found a barbers and got his hair cut it didn't turn out that bad lol
We spoke to the lady at our hotel to book some tours from here she was amazing she planed 2 tours for us which was brilliant.
The first one was to a place called sapa it is where all the rice Terraces are and village people live, it's far north west of Vietnam near the Chinese border.
The coach picked us up from our hotel in Hanoi around 7:00 and we arrived in sapa 6 hours later , me and Dave had a right good little set up on the coach we had the whole back seat where we could both lay down.
Once we arrived there all the village people was waiting to greet us as we got of the coach it was mad I've never seen people like that before they wore different outfit for different tribes ( you can see In our pictures )
We checked into are hotel which had an amazing view as we was so high up we were on the 7th floor in the mountains giving us a stunning view of the valleys
The first day we had a free afternoon so we had a walk around the village to see what was going on. I loved the little town it was so nice, loads of village people walking around trying to sell you stuff and you know Dave he loves winding people up he would wind them all up they would laugh at him.
The next day we had a half day treck booked through the rice terrace and the villages, a guide met us at the hotel and we started walking down the valley to the village which was called cat cat, when we arrived we got to see how the village people lived and work it was really good, they was all so nice. I was surprise that all the village people could speak really good English they said they just pick it up from the tourist. The treck took about 2 half hours after we headed in to town and have lunch which was part of the tour. That afternoon we just sat at a bar and had a drink with one of the girls we met on the treck.
The next day was a full day treck, the guide come met us at the hotel she was lovely she was one of the village people she was only 21 and had a 1 and half your old boy , she told us loads that if the women in the villages are not married by 21 they will not get married ever as they will be to old.
She had a limp when she walked she said she broke her leg a year ago but because she does these treck everyday hasn't heal right, i loved her she was so funny and nice. ( you can see a pic of her with Dave in our album )
So we started to walk down the valley though some amazing rice Terence and lots of little villages, Dave got one of the local to make this flower thing for me it was really good.
well after a hard 3 hour treck we stopped for lunch, when we sat down for lunch all the children would come up asking you to buy something off them, they all looked dirty and sad but I think they where made to look like that so you feel sorry for them , the tour guide told us not to buy from them as if they sell stuff it will stop them from wanting to go to school if they know they can get money everyday.
After lunch we carried on walking but was a nice easy walk this time lol, the tour guide gave me her umbrella because I was so hot bless her. We walked though a couple more villages which had there own school, we see loads of piglets and some cute little puppy's.
We finally made it to the end and lucky for us we had a mini bus to take us back up to the town , I was knackered by then lol.
As soon as we got to our hotel the cab was waiting for us to take us to the bus station to catch the coach home , once again me and Dave had a little set up sorted lol .
on the way bk we stopped off at a little rest stop and Dave rolled a fag everyone here thinks he is rolling weed and everywhere we go they ask if they can have some , so he gave them some then we watch them smoking it. they actually thought it was weed it was so funny, they were all passing it around like a joint lol
All in all we both really enjoyed sapa it was a great little town, you wouldn't expect it right in the middle of no where and the Vietnamese country side is stunning, a world away from hectic Hanoi
We arrive bk at Hanoi really late so when straight to bed as we are up early for are next tour.
Our 2nd tour was halong bay which is a over night boat trip.
The mini bus pick us up early and we headed to halong bay which is 3 and half hours drive from Hanoi.
Our tour guided again was so funny she stayed with us the whole 2 days.
When we arrived at halong bay we all boarded the boat and was told what cabin we was in, I loved it the room was so good, on the boat we had a restaurant , bar and roof terrance.
The food they done was actually so good we had these crab things which me and dave loved and hopefully I'm going to try do when I get home haha lol.
The first afternoon we was on the boat we had lunch and then headed to the cave which is one of the 7 wonders of nature which I have now seen 2 of them Dave seen 3.
It was massive, Defo a wow moment and some lovely view from the top, I think it took us about an hour to walk round.
In the picture you can see the ceiling it is like wave shapes the waves actually formed them it so mad how powerful water is to do that to rock.
Once we was back on the boat we had chill time so we all just sat on terrance, we met some really nice people on the boat everyone was from New Zealand, except from my mate Alan from Australia bless him he was as small fat guy with glasses i just felt so sorry for him so me and Dave become his friend lol. Alan defiantly taught me to never judge a book by the cover because he was such a nice bloke.
Then in the evening everyone was jumping of the boat in to the water it was a right laugh also we done some squid fishing but the whole group only caught 2.
The next morning we intend to get up at half 6 for the ti chi class but you know me and Dave we didn't get up till half 8 lol.
After we had breakfast we headed to the floating village where the fisher man live, they live on the boats and most of them are so small and very basic I couldn't believe people even live on something like that.
We jumped in a little boat and they took us around and through to some little lagoon too.
The last thing for are halong bay tour was a cooking lesson on the boat, the chef come up and taught us how to make spring rolls , I must say me and Dave was pretty good at them.
We headed back to the port after to get are mini bus back to Hanoi as we have a night train book for tonight as we are stopping at Hoi An for a couple of nights. I must say I am not looking forward too it , I have heard some bad story's.
