Saturday, and I got my lie in :)
After a slow start I headed out to explore some more of the trails around the Highlands. Starting out towards another of the local waterfalls I found it only slightly more enchanting than the first one. Carrying on up one of the hills surrounding Tanah Rata I met a troupe of monkeys hanging around near an old viewing station. I also saw a couple of snakes and several lizards scurrying around the paths. Heading down the other side I soon arrived on the edge of Brinchang where I sat and chilled in an old park to read my book.
Getting hungry for lunch I took the more direct route back to Tanah Rata quoted on the signs as taking an hour. 20 minutes later I was back in the town wondering if I was supposed to have crawled the route in order for it to take three times as long. Lunch was, you guessed it, Indian again, the food is really good here and I spent the afternoon reading in the gardens by the bus station.
By late afternoon I returned to the guesthouse, watched 'The Facebook' and met a couple of girls who had just arrived. We had a nice chat over the massive meals at the café as we tried to help one of them plan their next month in Malaysia.
I spent the evening packing up and enjoying some Yemeni biscuits Fairoz had given me with the local jam!
