Katie’s Aimless Wanderings
The last three days have been spent eating, drinking, lounging around in the sun and being driven to another restaurant for more eating and drinking. Shopping malls have been avoided in favour of the beach. Arriving yesterday to see huge queues of cars, we couldn't get into the main beach due to a wedding. Further down the road, we parked up, faced another huge queue but managed to get in with all the locals with their bbq's. The beach is a bit like the one in Bangladesh - full of ladies paddling in full dress and testosterone-packed teenagers in the prowl for a glimpse of flesh. This soon turned into a beach of 5 women and 500 men frolicking in the sea and parading up and down in their Sunday best.
I expect a lot of you have been to Dubai- today was spent having brunch at the Jumeira Beach Hotel. Not great with Jacque's 50% discount meaning as much to eat and drink as you can manage. Amazing what you can get through in 2 hours, most of it involving chocolate. We managed to walk it off a little by taking a look at the yachts moored in the private marina and then drove past the Sheikhs palace full of little white rabbits on the lawn outside.
Tomorrow sees Jacque back at work so I am off out of Dubai to the mountains for a look around.

Martin I was so excited hearing about the delights of Kazakhstan that I didn’t realise you were in Dubai! Say hello to Jacque for me :) I’m finding the sums a bit easier now.
