Another early morning with a 6 hour drive ahead of us to Lucerne, Switzerland. This would be my favourite drive of the trip. The scenic views of the swiss lakes were stunning! And there was a clear difference in the landscape between Italy and Switzerland because of this and the snow capped mountains.
Once in Lucerne, we first headed to the Lion Monument which is apparently the most moving and mournful piece of stone in the world. It is to commemorate the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution. We then went to Harry's Swiss watch and Swiss army knife shop for a mini demonstration. Ended up buying a knife for myself, been wanting one for ages, and two credit card type swiss army knives: one for myself and one for my Dad. A watch would have been nice, but the prices were far from affordable.
After this we had about 2 hours free time in the city. Myfy and I first walked along the Chapel Bridge then bought a 'sufficient' amount of chocolate before wandering round. I walked up to a church, which had a door which spookily opened infront of me, until I saw a person on the other side who had used an automatic function to open it. I then walked along a wall which goes round the city and has pretty views of the area before heading back to the group.
Tonights accommodation was a little different, we stayed in Jail! I must admit it was freaky after I closed the prison cell door; you were shut off from everything! It was very cool staying here though and I can now legitimately say I've spent a night in Jail.
