What a long day! Since we only had two weeks to complete our adventure we opted to push through and make it far the first day. We drove around Montreal, into New Brunswick and stopped for an overnight in Moncton.
Aside from a quick Tim Horton's stop for breakfast and subway for lunch, we made it quite a ways on conversation and excitement alone! In Hartland, New Brunswick we came across the World's Longest Covered Bridge, so naturally we had to stop. What's so exciting about a covered bridge? Not sure, but it was pretty long! Luckily for us Hartland is also home to the Covered Bridge Potato Chip Factory! We stopped in for a $5 tour with the promise of fresh chips off the line at the end. Unfortunately production stopped while we were watching and there were no free chips to be had. Great little stop regardless.
After hours and chatting we opted to listen to a podcast as we went through the trees and trees and more trees. If you're looking for an interesting podcast I would recommend Missing Richard Simmons, it was pretty interesting!
13.5 hours later we arrived in Moncton and checked into our hotel.. let me tell you, sometimes saving a couple bucks on a hotel that looked nice online is not worth it. Turns out it was a motel on a busy street with run down/closed businesses. Our room was on the main floor, right under the stairs. The door locked though, so we figured we would survive the night.
Headed to Montana's for food and then back almost immediately to bed. I pulled my sheets back to find a bed that most definitely looked slept in... so I hopped in with Laurel and we passed out for the night.
