Hey everyone!
Well we have been up to a few things since our last blog! We went to Broome's port where we had a lovely lunch and we saw a sea snake! It was orange and pretty big! I'm glad i wasn't in swimming!
Then Joyce and Richard rented a 4x4 so that we could explore the offroads of Broome! We first went to Derby and on our way there we stopped off at the Prison Boab Tree which is huge! It is fenced off so that you can't go inside it because snakes and spiders live inside it! We then carried onto Derby where we had a drive through the town which didn't take long and then we stopped for lunch!
The next day we took the car to the Bird Observatory which is a piece of the bush that lots of people basically live in in tents and watch the wildlife! We actually only saw one bird! However we did see some wild Kangaroos and one even had a little Joey in it's pouch which was really cute! We then had a wee walk on the beach that was just off from the observatory where we saw a guy mud crabbing and i also got stuck in the mud and though i was going to have to leave my shoes behind!
The following day we then went to Willie Creek Pearl Farm which was great! When we arrived we got a talk all about how the pearls are farmed which was really interesting and i got up to try and get a pearl out of an oyster which was actually quite difficult! We then had a wee bit of lunch before heading off on a boat around Willie Creek where we saw some of the Oyster Long Lines and got a tour of the creek which was beautiful! We all then went on a helicopter! It was an optional extra and Joyce and Richard went first follwed by Daniel and I. There were no doors in the heilcopter which was quite scary and if you stuck your arm out while in the air you nearly got it taken off becuase it was so windy! We got a great view of Willie Creek and Broome from the air and we also saw reef sharks and sting rays in the ocean! The sharks just looked like black blobs but we were told they were sharks! Our pilot funnily enough was from Edinburgh! He didn't sound Scottish at all though!
So after all that we had a relxing day if you don't count the swimming and tennis that we did!
Speak soon!
Love Daniel and Kathleen xxx
