So we left Santiago on Wednesday and arrived on Friday despite only flying for 13 hours.  Bizarre and slightly confusing....Also strange is that fact that we can understand people and signs. Santiago is our last stop in South America. It is a very pleasant city and quite a bit less backward than the other places we have been to; you can flush toliet paper here. All I can say is WOW! What an amazing and really special place. Easter Island is the most isolated yet inhabited place on earth. It took over 5 hours to fly there from Chile. The island, right in the middle of the pacific ocean has only 4000 people on it (at one point on 111) and has an abundance of huge stone heads dotted about everywhere.
