And so I am up to date, writing about the town I am sitting in!
You will all be pleased to hear that my years in drama training, my degree and my recent experiences with the Checkley Players have all finally come to good use! For I have won a fantabulous competition here in Queenstown on account of my performing abilities.
With each drink we bought, we got a raffle ticket. Ten thirty came and the winner was announed. Our bus driver. So he kindly donated the prize to the person who could perform the best Haka in the pub. (Haka - that chanty, dancy thing the all blacks do before a rugby game). Aim - to be as scary as possible. Prize - A sky dive. Pressure was on. We limbered up and I must have been in the zone, perhaps due to the 2-4-1 sauvignon blancs, but I was selected by the barmaids, not barmen I might add, as the winner!
So hopefully the weather will perk up (it's too cloudy at the minute) and we can go skydiving once more...
After that we went to another bar which served cocktails in teapots, we were loving it. On reflection, feel like suckers for falling for a tourist trap - 'serve them alcohol in something a little crazy and charge them more' but hey, we enjoyed it. And even have the teapot as a reminder (I snuck it in Leah's bag when she was in the toilet!)
Today we went on a Luge. It's like a sit down bike which you hurtle down a hill on. All good fun as is everything here.
Hostel is fab - the four of us have our own kitchen, video and TV and balcony. Again, I laugh in the face of backpacking!
And so we are up to date, thank for reading either all of the latest entries or just the odd one! Keep your messages coming and hopefully it wont be so long until the next update!
