Kate & Rob's Adventure
As of two days ago, we are no longer homeless. We have our campervan, and she will be with us for the next 5 weeks. We got her in Sydney and on the first day drove to Balina, a small town outside of Byron Bay. This was just a sleeping stop, and set off to Byron Bay the next morning.
The view off the highway of the Bay was amazing, pics will be coming later. We went up to the lighthouse to get a good look around, and climbed from there to the eastern most mainland spot in Australia. We stayed for the morning and I hated to leave such a beatuiful beach (so clean the sand even *squeaked* underfoot!), but Brisbane was calling.
Arrival in Brisbane was quick and easy, and we were finally able to stock our campervan with food and water to get us through the next few days. We got up this morning and went into the city to see the sites. The easiest way to see everything was to follow the City Cat Ferry that took us through the city on the river and showed the central district, suburban housing, parks and gardens. We decided to spend the afternoon at the city's man made beach on the river. An infinity pool overlooking the river, and a shopping centre made it an easy-going experience.
Tomorrow we start our journey to Cairnes with the Great Barrier Reef waiting for us. However, we will have to make one tiny detour to go to the Australia Zoo, home of the Crocodile Hunter! Hopefully Steve will be in wrestling the crocs!
We will update more as we get the chance, hope all is going well, Take Care.
Love
Kate and Rob
