Once we were off the boat from Ometepe we debated on our options for transport to San Juan Del Sur. We woke bright and early to make our way to an island in the middle of Lake Nicaragua called Ometepe. After a fun chicken bus ride (with more people on board the bus than seemed physically possible) we switched to the ferry which took us across the lake and on to the island. Our planned departure from Leon was little delayed due to a couple of pounding headaches from the previous night's exploits and also as we were enjoying some good chat with the Aussie guys we had hung out with in Leon. We prolonged as long as we could for the inevitable date with the chicken bus but we could wait no more as we wanted to arrive in Granada before dark. We left Ulitla at 6am to go back to the Port of La Ceiba. Lex and his unlucky spell of recent motion sickness thought it best to have a sea sickness tablet before the rough boat trip. On the way to the island he was doubled over on his seat with his head in a plastic bag sweating from head to toe. When I tried to help he snapped at me and told me not to touch him......little s***! So with Lex back in the game we had a vomit free boat trip back to mainland....Hooo...
